 Madonna’s family is mourning the loss of her stepmother Joan Ciccone. Joan became a part of Madonna’s life when she married Madonna’s father, Silvio Ciccone. Joan initially worked as the family’s housekeeper before marrying Silvio and raising a large family that included their two children, Jennifer and Mario.

Joan played a key role in the family’s life, not only as a mother figure, but also in building the family business. He co-founded Ciccone Vineyard and Winery

in Michigan with Silvio, where he has been actively involved in various roles, from planting the vines to preparing food for events in the winery’s tasting room. In addition to her work at the winery, Joan had a passion for antiques and fashion, and ran a nursery for two decades.

Joan appeared in several Madonna documentaries, including I’m Gonna Tell You a Secret and an episode of Biography, giving glimpses into her life with the Ciccone family. She is fondly remembered by her family for the joy, enthusiasm and love she brought to their lives.
